The Aegean islands (νησιά του Αιγαίου, nisiá tou aegaíou) are Greece's tourism showcase, but behind the beaches and hotels they are also culinary hot spots. It's partly because they are islands, and have independently developed unique dishes and traditions over the decades.
I've bunched all the various archipelagos up here (the Cyclades, Dodecanese, North Aegean islands and the Sporades) as food really doesn't have boundaries.
