Domatozoúmi is a thick savoury paste made from sun-dried tomatoes and sea salt on Mílos, which like Santoríni, is volcanic, so tomatoes grown here are extra tasty. It’s so good it’s spread on slices of bread with olive oil to make a popular snack known as a σκίζα (skíza). It’s also used in pasta, potato, and other dishes in the winter. You can buy it in jars to take home.
Also known as πελτές Μήλου, peltés Mílou, or vτοματοπελτές, domatopeltés.
