Tikva (τίκβα) is the word for pumpkin (kolokýthi) among the Bulgarian-speaking Muslim Pomak minority of Rhodopi Mountains of Thrace and Eastern Macedonia.
One recipe, τίκβα ψητή (tíkva psití) or roast pumpkin is made with coarsely grated pumpkin and squash, mixed with a little olive oil, flour and sugar, spread out on a baking sheet and then baked until crispy.
Ζίτκα τίκβα (zítka tíkva) is Pomak pumpkin soup, made with milk and bread.
