Cherry tomatoes from Santoríni: small, flavour-packed, low water sweet yet acidic tomatoes that grow in the volcanic soil.
They are often used to make deep fried tomato fritters, ντοματοκεφτέδες (domatokeftédes). Recipes vary wildly: some add fava as well as flour to bind them, while others add cheese, mint, capers etc.
