Alao spelled cavatieddi. A small, rolled-out, folded pasta, vaguely resembling a split hose, or mini hot dog buns. In the Molise and Puglia (where it's often called capunti), it's a favoured form for home-made pasta. Cavatelli can be served with cheese, tomato sauce, mushrooms, meat sauce or almost anything.
Cavaturi are similar, only longer and narrower.
