séskoulo

σέσκουλο

Chard, both domestic and wild (also spelled σέσκουλα, seskoula) Not that common of a green in greens-mad Greece, but known. On Tinos (as in the south France, where they make a tourte aux blettes) they use chard to make a sweet σεσκουλόπιτα (seskoulopita) dessert pie with rice, walnuts, honey, currants and cinnamon.
