Meat pie. There are variations all across Greece but the most famous version is from Kefaloniá, the Κεφαλονίτικη κρεατόπιτα (Kefalonítiki kreatópita) made with veal, pork, lamb or kid, tomato sauce, rice and spices, then baked in a crust made with white wine.
In Epirus, many make a Πρωτοχρονιά κρεατόπιτα (Protochroniá kreatópita) or New Year's meat pie along with the traditional sweet vasilopita, made with shredded cooked lamb, onions, cinnamon, raisins, pinenuts and parsley baked in phýllo.
