Spoon sweets. Preserved whole fruits, or their peels, or unripe nuts or rose petals (or even vegetables such as carrots, aubergines, gígantes, or tomatoes and almonds, a classic spoon sweet on Kos) that are slow cooked in sugar and water.
They are as a classic symbol of hospitality, served on a small dish with a spoon, a glass of cold water, a coffee and often a small glass of ouzo or raki.
