Pagellus erythrinus. A tasty rose-coloured fish with delicate white flesh, pageot (pandora) is caught in the Atlantic and Mediterranean, and related to the daurade royale.
Its cousin are the grey-tinted pageot acarné or galet and the more common pageot Bogavero or daurade rose or blackspot bream (Pagellus bogaraveo), with its distinctive dark spot by the gill.
