Gilt-head bream (Sparus aurata), a species of fish of the bream family Sparidae found in the Mediterranean Sea and the eastern coastal regions of the North Atlantic Ocean

Daurade royal (Sparus auratais) is gilt head bream, a tasty fish; many of those you find in France were farmed in Greece. The common sea bream is also sometimes called daurade (it gets confusing).
