There are two kinds: classic puff pastry and pâte levée feuilletée made with yeast for viennoiserie. Both require lots of practice to perfect, so nearly everyone who is not a baker buys it ready made in the supermarket, even though it is much better if you have the patience and practice to make it at home.
A feuilleté can be anything sweet or savoury in puff pastry.
