This church, founded in the 11th century, served an important convent of Augustinian nuns and was once filled with art, much of which eventually found its way into the Accademia when it was suppressed in 1807. After damage in the First World War and a fire on Christmas Day 1977, the church's walls now contain temporary classrooms and Biennale exhibits.
