Le Terese (Santa Teresa)

Square and closed

Le Terese

Built by Andrea Cominelli for the Sisters of Saint Theresa in 1688, this is one of those churches in Venice permanently closed for restoration. Damaged in the war, and used variously as a homeless shelter and a kindergarten, it is said to house a good Baroque interior. The restored convent now houses a University of Venice IUAV faculty of arts and design.
