Artificial island formed relatively recently by mud in the lagoon, Sacca Fisola is located on the far west end of the Giudecca, and linked to it by a bridge. Once known as one of the most left-wing corners of the city, it's now a very quiet place: the main reason other Venetians visit is to swim laps in the municipal pool. It also has a little campo with a fairly ghasty parish church, San Gerardo, built in the 1960s.
