This busy crossroads along the Mercerie has a memorial column to the abortive revolt of 1848. Its major buildings both wear safe, nondescript Baroque façades by Giuseppe Sardi: the Scuola Grande di San Teodoro, and the church of San Salvatore. The adjacent monastery of San Salvatore, now occupied by a phone company, has a cloister attributed to Sansovino, which the phone folks will let you see Tues-Sat 10am-6pm.
