The Veneto-Byzantine arches near the Teatro Malibran are believed to have belonged to the family home of Marco Polo. The pair of enclosed courts adjacent to the theatre recall Polo's nickname ‘Mr Million’: the Corte Prima del Milion, and beyond it, the picturesque Corte Seconda del Milion, with its collage of architectural fragments from the 11th to 15th centuries, and a lovely Byzantine arch.
