Son of a Venetian barber, Gregorio Lazzarini (1657–1730) trained under several artists, including Pietro della Vecchia, before launching into a successful career, painting in a variety of academic styles. He was said to be a superb teacher, and his star pupil was Giambattista Tiepolo.
You'll find his paintings in the Palazzo Ducale (Sala dello Scrutinio) and Museo Diocesano Sant' Apollonia.
