Casa Museo Andrich

Dreamy idyll on Torcello

For decades, up until the 1980s, the former sacristy of the church of San Tommaso dei Borgognoni on Torcello was the home of artists, Lucio Andrich and Clementina De Luca, who created and left over a thousand colourful, imaginative works of art, from silks, tapestries, glass, sculpture, paintings and engravings to mosaics and furniture–that fill what is now the Casa Museo Andrich. Tours are led by Lucio's nephew Paolo Andrich, one of the nine full time residents on Torcello.

The house overlooks the mudflats and shoals of the Palude della Rosa, one of the most evocative areas of the Lagoon, home to a large flock of flamingos between March and September, which you can contemplate from the delightful garden.
