One of the classics of Naples...a greaseproof paper cone, or cuoppo filled with fresh fried whitebait, prawns, calamari etc, served with a slice of lemon and two long skewers for eating without getting your hands to greasy. The bones can be awkward, so some places offer no bone versions.
Although seafood is the best know, a cuoppo can also have chicken, or innards, or vegetables, or even sweet stuff...as long as everything is deep fried.
In July, Saviano holds a Sagra di Cuoppo where you can try just about anything.
