macco/maccu
broad bean soup
In Sicily, macco is a thick, vegetarian soup, generally prepared with broad beans and flavoured with finocchietto (wild fennel), sometimes fancied up with ricotta and bottarga.
In Puglia, maccu is the same as 'ncapriata.
