A form of pasta, generally circles pinched together in the middle; in Abruzzo, they can be small rings.
In Calabria, they make nocchette di fichi imbottiti (dried figs shaped like bows, soaked in rum and stuffed with ground walnuts, almonds and candied citrus fruit).
