A sagra is a celebration or festa, sometimes dedicated to a saint or even a pagan tradition, but they nearly always involves food; in fact most are especially dedicated to a village or town's local speciality. We've included them because they can be great fun—an excuse to don traditional costumes, with music, dancing and fireworks—although they can be pretty boring, with a few tables displaying jars of preserved truffles. See the Calendar of food festivals, which includes the ones we know about; let us know if you know of a good one we missed.
