ghiotta
a fancy sauce or delicacies
Ghiotta can mean three things:
- a female glutton
- an adjective for something delicious
- a rich sauce
This appears in famous dishes such as pesce spada alla ghiotta, for which no two recipes are alike. There's no real definition—it's just a way of promising something extra special.
