Maraschino
distilled sour cherry liqueur (and candied cherries)
Distilled from marasca cherries by the Luxardo company of Padua, and sold in a distinctive straw covered bottle. They also claim to have invented the true Maraschino cherry, infused in a cherry syrup and always ready to brighten a pineapple upside down cake, as well as your average cocktail.
