pasticcio

From the Greek pastitsio. A casserole with pasta, or sometimes potatoes, with some meat and cheese, usually covered in bechamel sauce.

Some other oven dishes also use the name, such as pasticcio di melanzane (baked aubergine with tomato and cheese).
