'wolf's eyes' pasta
Occhi di lupo (wolf's eyes) are short tubes that look somewhat like the eyes of Tex Avery's cartoon wolf when he sees a good-looking dame.
There's also occhi di pernice ('partridge eyes'), tiny rings, used in soup. Other names include occhi di passero (sparrow) or di trota (trout).
