East of Pátmos, little Maráthi (0.33 sq. km, pop. 5 permanent residents) makes its neighbour Arkí look big. It’s one of those idyllic best kept secret islands, hard to get to without your own boat.
It has two lovely beaches, turquoise to blue Tiganákia in the south and Limnári, a half hour walk from the port. Far from any light pollution, it’s a brilliant place to watch the stars or the famous spectacle of the full moon rising
You won’t starve, though: Pantelis restauarant, serving the day’s catch, has been going strong since 1978.
