Small red sand fish served fried with skordaliá, a speciality of Rhodes and in particular the superb seafood restuaurant, Stegna Kozas which is a must for anyone visiting the island.
It is a tasty fish of many names, known in other parts of Greece as κατσούλα (katsoúla), παξιμάδι (paximádi, or ‘rusk’), παπαγάλο (papagálo, or ‘parrot’), or ποντικόψαρο (pontikópsaro ‘mouse fish’)
