bekrí mezé

μπεκρή μεζέ

Literally 'drunkard's mezé': in the old days it was a classic little dish served with ouzo, but now it's often served as a main dish.

It can be any meat (it's usually pork these days) stewed with green and red peppers, hot chilis, onions, garlic and white (or red) wine, with a touch of mustard or cumin.
