Sphyraene sphyraena is the European or Mediterranean barracuda, or cornetfish; it can reach 1.60m and weigh 4 kg. It’s a popular game fish and often appears in Greek fish markets; it has very lean flesh and is often grilled, or put in a fish soup, or cooked with a lemon sauce.
