Muroise or mûre-framboise is a cross between the American blackberry and red raspberry. Their offspring can be either a loganberry (an older, accidental American blackberry-raspberry cross) or a tayberry, named after the River Tay in Scotland, where the fruit was developed; these are sweeter and more aromatic than loganberries, but because they are soft and don’t transport well, you’ll rarely find them in the shops.
If you are buying them for your garden, be sure to get the right variety.
