Forestines are shimmering sugar candy pillows that look as if they were made of coloured satin, filled with a chocolate-flavoured almond and hazelnut praline.
Invented by Georges Forest in Bourges in 1879, Forestines are claimed to be the first filled bonbons ever, and have won prizes at the world’s fairs in Paris. They are still made today at the Maison de la Forestine.
