Dorade-sébaste or grande sébaste (Sebastes norvegicus), the ocean perch caught in Iceland and Norway, is imported to France and popular for its firm pink and white flesh. Among its other names in English are rose fish, Atlantic redfish, Norway haddock, golden redfish, pinkbelly rosefish or bergyl.
It is often confused withSebastes mentella or sébaste du nord, a rock fish of many names in English (beaked redfish, deepwater redfin, red perch, or hemdurgan).
