Sechage de vanille à Raiatea

Both extrait de vanille (vanilla extract) and gousses de vanille: (vanilla pods) are widely available.

Vanille Bourbon or vanille de Bourbon may sound like bourbon-flavoured vanilla (or so I thought when I bought a carton of vanille-Bourbon ice cream for the first time), but it’s really a name adopted in 1964 to differentiate the vanilla grown in the Indian Ocean, notably in Madagascar or La Réunion (formerly called l”Île Bourbon), from the vanilla from Mexico or the Pacific islands.
