Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria)

The delicate reine des prés ‘Queen of the Meadows’ (Filipendula ulmaria) often dominates a humid meadow, hence its name. Meadowsweet was used to flavour drinks since Chaucer’s time (when it was known as ‘meadwort’). It is used as a diuretic tisane and is said to be good for rheumatism and influenza.
