Arôme Patrelle is a handy friend in the cuisine when your sauce looks pale, your potage seems lacklustre or the crust of your terrine stays beige. It comes in several flavours— potage, beef, balsamic and barbecue.
They also make a flavouring for pastries called Kirschamanda.
Founded in 1852, Patrelle is a family run business located near Deauville; if you’re in the area you can visit their shop.
