Few desserts have the celebrity bling of this delicate brioche filled with a vanilla lemon cream and topped with sugar, invented in 1955 by Alexandre Micka, a Polish pastry chef in Saint-Tropez.
Micka was hired by Roger Vadim to cater for the cast of ...And God Created Woman, starring his soon-to-be-famous wife, Brigitte Bardot, who loved Micka’s dessert and gave it its name. Some home cooks put raspberries or strawberries on top.
