During the holidays, French supermarkets inevitably offer an array of exotic fruit that you rarely see the rest of the year, along with all the holiday treats. Bins of fresh letchis (lychees) are part of the show, but increasingly they have become available at other times as well. They grow in La Réunion and Martinique.
