In a sorry state and closed to the public until a five year massive overhaul was completed in 2010, the hillside gardens of the Villa Bardini are especially beautiful in spring for the magic of the wisteria tunnel and irises that line the Baroque stair, leading up to a belvedere with a spectacular view over Florence. There's also an English garden crossed the winding 'Channel of the Dragon' and terraces planted with olives.
