The Lungarno Corsini makes for a lovely walk along the Arno, especially at sunset — or midday, when a wild symphony of bells will assail you from all directions. While walking here, stop to enjoy the hugely varied Florence skyline. Lining the river, the palaces themselves are of all shapes and sizes, contrasting with the cluster of red rooftops near San Frediano. Add to these the various bell towers, the Ponte Vecchio, the near hills with San Miniato and Forte di Belvedere surrounded by lofty cypresses to the east, and the higher ground of the Valombrosa beyond that.
