Marco Berlinghieri (active mid 13th century) was one of a family of artists from Lucca or Volterra (father Berlinghiero, older brothers Bonaventura and Barone) who worked all over north Italy and Tuscany. All painted well within the Tuscan Gothic conventions of the time, and all are known only from a few, often contentious attributions.
Marco is known for an illuminated Bible, some crosses and miniature paintings, and one striking fresco fragment, the Massacre of the Innocents in Santo Stefano.
