These 14th-century Venetian sculptor brothers (Jacopo is sometimes known as Iacobello) worked in Venice, Mantua and Bologna, and were influenced by Tuscan sculptor Nicolò Pisano, creator of a new realistic, classically inspired style.
Works in the Museo Civico Medievale (including Pier Paolo's Group of Justice and the Six Patron Saints of Bologna) and the magnificent marble ancona, sculpted by both brothers on the high altar of San Francesco.
