Giovanni da Modena, or Giovanni di Pietro Falloppi (c. 1396–1451) is the great International Gothic quattrocento painter that nobody knows. Though his surviving works are very few, and almost nothing is known about his life, his frescoes in San Petronio, especially the tremendous Last Judgement in the Cappella Bolognini (1410) are unforgettable.
Other works are in Bologna's Pinacoteca Nazionale, Santa Maria dei Servi and San Giovanni in Monte.
