This Poble Nou institution is a charming place in a beautiful Modernista building. A few years ago the Recasens family, who have been here since 1906, converted their cansaladeria (Catalan for a butcher-charcuterie shop) shop into a 'degustació' restaurant, specializing in all sorts of Catalan charcuterie, cheeses and salads (they also do cheese fondues). Catalans take their charcuterie very seriously (really, Catalans take everything very seriously), and this will be the perfect place to learn about fuet, sobressada, llonganissa and the other treasures of one of the world's great sausage cultures.
The family also runs a shop, the Botiga, around the corner at C/ Llull 201, selling their products and other Catalan specialities.
