The pale blue Casa de Lactància (1913) is a late-Gothic Modernista clinic for nursing infants by Pere Falqués and Antoni de Falguerra, crowned with an intricate parapet and relief showing an allegory of Barcelona helping the unfortunate by Eusebi Arnau.
It’s now a retirement home; ask to step inside to see the enchanting covered courtyard and upper gallery, delicately decorated with stained glass, wrought iron, mosaics and ceramics to form one of Barcelona’s prettiest interiors.
