Where has Woody Woodpecker gone to retire? Why, in Catalonia! PortAventura also welcomes all the critters from Sesame Street in its newest zone. There are shows in the various zones (Polynesia, China, Mexico, and the Far West), especially at night; the kitsch is kitschier and the rides scarier than Disneyland, including, new in 2012 at the cost of €25 million, the highest (76m) and fastest 'hyper' roller coaster in Europe, with the biggest drop, achieving speeds of 134kmph. There's also the Caribe Water Park, where you can spend another whole day, and the new Ferrari Land for sports car thrills.
