An unusual hexagonal building of hexagonal modules vintage 1973, this was the city's first purpose-built museum, known until recently as the Museu Etnològic houses 70,000 ethnological treasures. It now forms part of the Museu de Cultures del Món; the same ticket is good for both.
There are rotating displays of art and daily items from around the world, while permanent exhibits concentrate on Catalonia and the Pyrenees, Morocco, Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea, Japan, Australia, Salamanca and South America. Check the website for frequent special exhibitions and concerts.
