Created in 1981–7 from an abandoned quarry, the land destined to become a housing development, instead, after a battl, it became instead a popular palm-rimmed swimming lake with an island and beach.
The de rigueur public art is here as well: a piece by Ellsworth Kelly, and Eduardo Chillida’s giant gentle claw, the Elogi de l’Aigua (‘water eulogy’).
