Fundació Suñol
One man's avant-garde hoard
A businessman and passionate art collector named Josep Suñol provided the 1,200 contemporary works on display here, covering the 20th-century avant garde from Picasso to Warhol (including a great portrait of Chairman Mao wearing red lipstick), with a preponderance of Catalan and Spanish artists. In 2019 the collection moved to its current location, the Galeria 2 that Suñol built when he needed more space.
